Благодаря модульному принципу построения, они легко конфигурируются под конкретные требования.

Яркий двухстрочный дисплей и 5 кнопок на передней панели облегчают труд оператора. На боковой стороне крышки имеется прозрачное окно для визуального контроля за рулоном этикеток. Барабаны для смотки подложки и термотрансферной ленты могут уменьшать свой диаметр для быстрого и удобного снятия рулонов. Надежная механика (всего одна ременная передача) в сочетании с простотой чистки термоголовки существенно удешевляют эксплуатацию.

На принтере установлен мощный процессор, работающий на частоте 66 МГц, что позволяет принтеру работать в многозадачном режиме. Он одновременно печатает, принимает данные по интерфейсу, производит графические преобразования. Использование Flash-памяти ПО принтера позволяет пользователям проводить апгрейд ПО, загружать свои шрифты и даже менять язык сообщений меню.

При проектировании принтера тщательным образом прорабатывалось всё, что влияет на качество печати. Причем на качество на протяжении всего срока эксплуатации и при работе с любыми расходниками. Двойное защелкивание термоголовки, разделенная подающая бобина для термотрансферной ленты, литая станина — всё это уменьшает вероятность образования ухудшающих качество складок на ленте. Кроме того, имеется довольно большой набор пользовательских регулировок печатающего устройства.

В комплекте с принтером бесплатно поставляются драйвера под Windows. Поэтому печатать этикетки можно из любого стандартного Windows-приложения, не тратя средства на покупку и время на освоение специальных программ. Кроме того, принтер поддерживает стандартный язык описания этикеток DPL. Благодаря этому, новый принтер I-4208 может заменить старые модели без модификаций прикладного ПО.
