Operating the Cassette Deck Playback Press the EJECT button on Deck A or Deck B to open the tape loading door. Insert a tape into the desired deck. PC-9335 Dual Cassette Deck Cassette Maintenance Keep the Recording Heads Clean Tape heads can periodically build up a coating of oxide residue from the passage of the tape over them. We recommend you clean the heads periodically using 99% Isopropyl Alcohol or a specially manufactured tape head cleaner.

6. Memory Button
Pressing this button will cause the tape to stop when the tape counter reaches
«000» in fast forward or rewind mode.
7. High-Speed Dub Button
Pressing this button will activate high-speed dubbing mode. Pressing the STOP
button on Deck A or Deck B will stop the unit.

9. Reset Counter Button
Pressing the Reset Counter Button will reset the Tape Counter to zero, allowing you
to easily relocate to any point on the tape.
10. Normal Speed Dub Button
Pressing this button will activate normal-speed dubbing mode.
11. Rec Mute Button ( )
Pressing this button will insert a four second blank portion during recording. This
can be useful when used with the Blank Skip button (4) for locating passages on
tape.
12. Pause Button ( )
Pressing this button in PLAY or REC mode will pause the tape.
13. REC Button ( )
Pressing this button will place the unit in Record Pause mode. Pressing PLAY
subsequent to pressing the REC button will begin recording.
14. Cassette Door
Press the Eject button (15) when in Stop mode to open this door, for loading and
unloading tapes. This door can be easily removed for tape head maintenance
by pushing it upward and then gently pulling forward.

Pressing this button opens and closes the adjacent cassette door.
16. Forward Play Button ( )
Pressing this button activates Forward Play mode. The » » indicator lights, and
the tape plays in a forward direction.

A level control sets the direct input recording levels, which are indicated on the LED level meter. Two dubbing modes are selectable, normal and high speed, with high speed offering 1.5 times faster recording while a record mute button inserts 4 seconds of blank recording when desired. Three playback modes are switchselectable: single-side play, two-side auto-reverse and two-side continuous play. A separate relay playback setting cycles the selected playback mode between decks, offering single-side and auto-reverse playback from each deck, and in continuous play mode providing full tape playback cycling repeatedly from deck to deck. Automatic Music Search (AMS) allows rapid cueing of playback selections, and a blank skip feature automatically advances to the next selection after 10 seconds of blank tape. Input and output connections are made with 1/4” phone jacks, with a balanced input and three mono outputs: fixed (-10dBV), variable & headphones. The PC-9335 can be powered by 115/230 VAC and/or 24 VDC, enabling its use as part of a portable P.A. system, or connection to a standby power supply for emergency operation. The unit is packaged in a 51/4” triple-height rackmount enclosure. PC-9335 Architectural and Engineering Specifications The dual cassette deck shall incorporate two full logic controlled, auto-reverse mono cassette decks, Deck A with record/playback and Deck B with playback capabilities. Recording shall be by direct input or synchro dubbing from Deck B to Deck A. Dubbing speeds shall be selectable from normal (1x) to high speed (1.5x). Direct input recording levels shall be set by a front panel level control. Playback mode shall allow three selections: one side playback, one deck auto reverse playback, and continuous playback. A separate relay playback setting, if enabled, shall cycle the selected playback mode from deck to deck, and in continuous playback mode repeatedly cycle full tape playback between decks. An automatic music search (AMS) feature shall allow one button cueing to advance/reverse to the next program selection, and a button- selectable blank skip mode shall automatically advance to the next program material following 10 seconds of blank program. A memory stop feature shall be buttonselectable and stop the tape in fastforward or fast-reverse modes when the counter reaches “000.” A recordmute button shall insert 4 seconds of blank signal when pressed during recording. The record input shall be balanced, and both fixed (-10 dBV) and variable outputs shall be provided. A headphone output shall be provided on the front panel, and the output shall be adjusted by the variable output level control. Input and output connections shall be by 1/4” phone jack. The dual cassette deck shall meet the following performance criteria: Frequency response (-20 dB recording, normal tape) shall be from 125 Hz to 8 kHz ± 3 dB; wow and flutter shall be less than 0.12% (WRMS); and signalto-noise ratio shall exceed 45 dB. The dual cassette deck shall measure 19” (483 mm) width x 5.25” (132 mm) height x 11” (280 mm) depth, and incorporate provisions for 19” rack mounting. The power source shall be auto-switching between AC and 24 VDC, with the AC power switchselectable between 115 VAC @ 60 Hz and 230 VAC @ 50 Hz. The power shall be controlled from a front-panel mounted push-on/push-off switch with an integral power LED. The dual cassette deck shall be an Inter M model PC-9335.
